What Makes a Good OKR Example

Before browsing the OKR examples below, three principles will help you adapt them well. Specifically, these OKR examples are meant to be templates — not copy-paste solutions. Furthermore, the strongest OKR programmes evolve their OKRs every cycle as the organisation learns what genuinely moves the needle.

01

Objectives are qualitative and motivating

Specifically, an Objective expresses what you want to achieve in language that inspires the team. By contrast, weak Objectives read like task descriptions. Furthermore, every Objective in these OKR examples passes the Motivation, Direction and Alignment tests.

02

Key Results are quantitative and outcome-based

Each Key Result must measure a change in condition — not task completion. Importantly, the format "from baseline to target by date" is the gold standard. Moreover, if hitting the KR doesn't prove the Objective was met, the KR needs rewriting.

03

Adapt to your context — never copy verbatim

By contrast with templated goals, these OKR examples work best when adapted to your specific baseline, ambition level and quarterly priorities. Specifically, every number below is a starting reference, not a recommendation for your situation.

For the methodology behind these OKR examples, see our OKR-BOK™ framework, our complete guide to OKRs, and our OKR FAQs reference. Furthermore, for OKR examples organised by industry rather than function, see our OKR examples across 30+ industries.
